Irish born entrepreneur, producer and creator of hit shows Celtic Woman and Celtic Thunder, Sharon Browne is a veteran of the music industry. Her management buyout in 1996 of K-Tel in Ireland created one of Ireland’s Premier Irish Music Labels – Celtic Collections, an independent and Irish owned label representing Ireland’s best loved Artists such as Phil Coulter, The Dubliners, The Wolfetones, The Furey Bros & Davy Arthur as well as the female vocalists from Celtic Woman. Sharon’s career to date has focused on promoting established artists as well as breaking new acts and launching them on the world stage.

In 2004 Sharon attended MIDEM the music industry’s largest trade show and convention in Cannes, France and there after a discussion with Vice President of North America’s PBS network, she conceived the idea to create a glossy, ethereal production showcasing popular Celtic music, performed on stage by a specially selected group of talented, classy Irish female vocalists. The show, Celtic Woman, was taped at The Helix auditorium in Dublin in September 2004 in front of a sold-out audience. It was produced by its creator, Ms. Browne, in collaboration with musical director and composer David Downes (whom she had previously signed to her Celtic Collections Label), and television producer, Avril MacRory. In early 2007 after finishing the second Celtic Woman special Sharon parted ways with Celtic Woman and her business partner Dave Kavanagh.

In 2007 Sharon began developing a new show that would feature five charismatic young stars, (all of whom had been auditioned and hand-picked by Ms. Browne and her Musical Director Phil Coulter), performing timeless Irish songs and international hits, rugged Celtic imagery and dramatic mystique. Celtic Thunder first aired on Public Television in March 2008 and has toured the USA and Canada every year since. The show has also toured in Australia three times. Since its release Celtic Thunder has been named Billboard’s Top World Music Artist in 2008, 2009 and 2011 and was runner up to Celtic Woman in 2010, 2012 and 2013.

These auditions are for the vocalists for a new ‘Sexier Celtic Show” for an American Casino that will ultimately feature male/female singers, dancers and strings.
