Visual Artist Lisa Freeman is seeking 3 performers for an upcoming exhibition which will be held in Rua Red Gallery, Tallaght on the 13th of May.
Auditions to be held during the first week of April
This is a new site specific performance for the gallery space at Rua Red. The broad theme of this performance is to investigate how one experiences, communicates and filters the miscommunications and misinterpretations in our daily interactions with each other.
This performance will be a part choreographed/part improvised gestural routine and will be defined and sculpted by four different elements: props, the performers bodies, costumes and sound. As the performance unfolds, the props which are placed throughout the space become activated. The movements with the props will allow the performers to ‘connect’ and disconnect’ with each other and the audience.
Using live performance, sculpture, sound and costume I wish to explore how re-assigning material and aesthetic value allows for the de-hierarchization of roles within social groups and how this can lead to miscommunication in our experiences with one another. Also the performance will possibly durational 2-4 hours with some small breaks.
Payment A modest fee will be paid to each performer.
