Multiple roles required for a short film (20/30 minutes long) “The History of this Moment” (writer and director Baz David).

The film will be shot in Dublin in January/February 2016 .
This is an unpaid job, but the film will be submitted to severall film festivals.

8 MALE ACTORS
–Leading roles–
Micko: Playing age – 18 to 25 years old. Lower working class Dublin accent. Slim to medium build. Character is charismatic and likeable but also a little shy and insecure. The actor must able to transform himself psychologically in the process of deterioration due to heroin addiction.

Gaffney: Playing age – 18 to 25 years old. Lower working class Dublin accent. Slim to medium build. Character is charismatic and outgoing and willing to take chances. The actor must able to transform himself psychologically in the process of deterioration due to heroin addiction.

Fiachra: Playing age – 20 to 30 years old. Middle class Dublin accent. Medium build. Character is smart, artistic, sensitive, a little childish with a tendency for ‘doing the hero’. Actor must be able to convey a sense of intellectual depth.

–Supporting roles–
Waiter: playing age – 30 to 50 years old. Medium or medium to heavy build. Non Irish accent. Character is charming but nervous and arouses sympathy.

Manager: Playing age – 35 to 50 years old. Medium build. Irish or non Irish accent. Cocky, proud and unsympathetic.

Johno: Playing age 18 to 25 years old. Lower working class Dublin accent. Medium build. Playful and charismatic young man.

Eamon Maher: Playing age 35 to 50 years old. Lower working class Dublin accent. Strong build. Wicked and aggressive looking man.

Junkie: Playing age 25 to 40 years old. Lower working class Dublin accent. Slim to medium build. Gaunt, aggressive and malnourished looking man.

3 FEMALE ACTORS
–Leading role–

Elaine: Playing age – 20 to 30 years old. Middle class Dublin accent. Medium build. Character is clever, playful, quirky and caring. Actor must be able to convey a comedic sensibility and also a deep sense of affection for her boyfriend (Fiachra)

–Supporting roles–

Mrs Heffernan: Playing age – 35 to 55 years old. Medium or medium to heavy build. Lower, working class Dublin accent. Character is angry and in poor health. Her disposition is of someone who has lost all faith in the world and has turned against it in a vicious way.

Teacher: Playing age – 35 to 45 years old. Slim, medium or heavy build. Irish accent. Character is self assured, clever, a little patronising but ultimately caring.

Auditions will be on appointment 29 November in Dublin city center, please specify in the email your availability times for the day.

The deadline for the application will be Tuesday 24 November.

Synopsis of the film and the part of the script for the audition related to the roles chosen will be sent to all the successful applicants.
