Louise WhiteLouise White Performance Maker (Winner Spirit of the Fringe Award 2013) is seeking performers for a two week development period in September 2014. This is a preliminary exploration and research phase for Mother You; a Project Arts Centre and Tiger Dublin Fringe co-commission which will premier in September 2015.

This work is supported by The Arts Council of Ireland. Mother You is an ambitious live performance and installation piece that will take place over multiple levels in a disused commercial building in Dublin’ City Centre. It is an aspirational intervention that seeks to create a temporal moment of fantasy, activism and communion.

The Work: For this early phase of development, the work will focus primarily on the concept of Community.

We will use discussions, interviews, role-play games, research sharing and practical performance exercises. Your role in the development phase might include some light research and would actively seek your contribution on the content being explored. The ideal candidates will be interested in devising and have the ability to offer input confidently and creatively, with a pro-active attitude, and have a genuine interest in the themes of the work.

Performers: Louise is interested in working with performers from a variety of backgrounds and wishes to hear from anyone interested in collaborative, contemporary performance as well as actors and theatre practitioners. Previous collaborators have included – a dancer, visual artist, spoken-word poet, composer, school teacher, singer & children among others.

About the Artist: Louise White is a Dublin based Theatre-Maker who has cultivated a robust working practice. She is committed to developing performance collaboratively and inter-disciplinarily. She works site-specifically, with installation and in theatres & provides audiences with innovative experiences by engaging publicly and exploring concepts of community and the socio-cultural environment. She has presented highly successful works as part of Dublin Fringe Festival; Way Back Home 2013, Winner of the Spirit of the Fringe Award & From the Heart 2010, nominated for Spirit of the Fringe, Best Off-Site Production & Best Design in 2010.

Successful applicants will be invited to attend a workshop audition the following week.

Dates & Rates: 8th– 19th September (No Saturday or Sunday Rehearsals)

Payment is €500 per week plus Holiday Pay and PRSI contribution. As this is only a two week commitment it is essential that applicants are available for all dates, without exception.
