The Wilde Shamrock Touring Theatre – And no, the ‘e’ in ‘Wilde’ is not a misspelling, it is of course a
reference to the wonderful Oscar, the perfect icon to represent the legendary wit Dublin and its
people provide. The Theatre Company was set up in 2011 based on the traditions established over
many years by Irish musicians, storytellers and actors.
“Our aim is to combine the actors and the audience in an act of imagination. By
breaking down the wall that separates performers from audience, we try to make the public feel as
though they are a part of the performance themselves.” – WSTT.
Based in Dublin, Wilde Shamrock Touring Theatre tours throughout Europe every year with its
unique brand of theatre. As the shows are aimed at people for whom English is not their first
language, the company prides itself on clarity of speech and performance. Our native English
speaking actors deliver the unique Irish charm that entertains and educates our audiences each year.
The shows are aimed at age groups ranging from those with basic English to the very advanced.
Using Storytelling, acting and of course Irish music they provide a unique and memorable experience
Where does the company perform?
The company performs in schools, theatres, town halls and pubs throughout Germany, Switzerland
and Denmark. As the company provides its own set and props the diversity of venues is enormous.
Our shows are suitable for all ages. Our unique style of theatre is particularly popular in schools as it
allows the students to enjoy themselves for over an hour listening to native English speakers away
from the classroom environment and leave feeling confident and invigorated about English. Theatres
book the company as WSTT provide a tremendous evening of entertainment with a lot of Irish music
played at the end of a performance. And of course pubs can enjoy the evening of Irish music that
are also provided on the tours.
When does the company travel?
The company normally travels throughout Germany, Switzerland and Denmark between the months
of September to December. For a list of where they are and when as well as what shows they will
perform in 2014, please visit the website http://www.wstt.eu or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
