Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin need to complete the construction of our cancer and cardiac wards and we are asking if you could help us in achieving that very important goal.
Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin is the National Paediatric hospital that caters for patients all across Ireland, where they receive treatment for Cancer, Leukaemia, Spina Bifida, Cystic Fibrosis and Cardiac surgery. In St John’s, our cancer ward, conditions are already getting better for the 140 children receiving treatment right now. We completed the construction of Phase I which has delivered a new spacious state of the art 4 bedded Bone Marrow Transplant Unit complete with en-suites and rooming infacilities for parents as well as 7 new single rooms, all ensuite.
This is an incredible achievement. Private rooms finally with private bathrooms, a world away from what our patients and their families only recently had to endure. The difference that these major developments are already making to children and families facing a devastating diagnosis of cancer is immeasurable. Only a couple of months ago there were no private rooms for the most critical or terminally ill children, no private bathrooms for patients or their families and only three bathrooms for 20 beds.
But we are not stopping there. We remain fully committed to raising funds to renovate Phase II of the cancer ward which we hope to deliver soon. We are building a new cardiology unit also . The good news is that we are making incredible progress. Your support will ensure that we can continue our efforts to ensure that all sick children inIreland receive the highest standards of care with the best available equipment in the finest possible environment at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin.
