Graduates of St John’s College in Cork will be holding auditions this Friday and they will be in the Montfort College of Performing Arts in Penrose Wharf, off McCurtain Street in Cork. They will be on from 1:00 – 3:00 in the afternoon and from 7:45 – 10:00 in the evening.

They are asking people to prepare a monologue of their own choice and we will also ask them to read an excerpt from the script, which we will give them on the day.

Auditions are by appointment only, so we are asking people to e-mail to arrange a time.

Written and Directed by Sharon Cronin, this short film centers around an eighteen year old girl whose mentally unstable mother leaves her on her eighteenth birthday. This causes her to have to grow up fast and make some big decisions about what she’s going to do with her life. She already emulates some of the behaviours of her unstable mother. Will she carry on down this road or break free and find her own path in life? We are currently looking for females aged from 16 – 22 to play the main character and her five friends, but there is also a smaller part for a male around the same age.

This is a no budget film and we don’t have money to pay people, but we hope that everyone involved will have a very good experience and get some good exposure from it. People can also use it for their showreel.
