Battle for Broadway

We are looking for theatre/musical or dance groups to put together an act of any musical number from the stage, screen or TV e.g. Mary Poppins, Oliver, Glee or Chicago etc. etc. The act can be mimed if needs be so if you are not fabulous singers- don’t worry. The act needs to be a couple of mins long but no longer than 10 minutes.

The main show will be held on Easter Sunday 31/03/2013 and we hope to have at least 5 or 6 acts to perform. If we have a huge amount of acts who register their interest we may have to hold heats with the winners of each heat going through to the grand Easter Sunday final.

There is no age limit and if you have a group of children, we hope to put these on early on the night in the very early slots and remember it is the school holidays so hopefully that will not be a problem to your group.

The group should consist of at least 3 people and no more than 10 people. We are just limited by floor space so those numbers would probably suit best, depending on the act.

There will be a judging panel on the night which will award points for costumes, musicality and entertainment value etc. etc. But there will also be an audience voting system, where each member of the audience can buy as many votes as they like for the act they like most. So points are awarded to the act who have the highest judges points and who have the highest audience votes and all points are combined to reveal the overall winner. The prize for the overall winning group is 1000.

This charity night will be held in Kettle’s Country House Hotel, Lispopple, Swords, Co Dublin on Easter Sunday 31/03/2013 at 8pm. If you think you are interested please register respond by email address above (in the poster). We can come along and visit your group to give you more information on the competition and about the charity.(The Adi Roche’s Chernobyl Children International Project)
