The only musical featuring authors Myles naGopaleen and John Betjeman is back by popular demand for two weeks only at the Gaiety Theatre from 13 – 24 March.

Winner of three Irish Times Theatre Awards including Best Production and Best Director, Arthur Riordan’s hilarious comedy follows the exploits of a British crossword enthusiast sent to Dublin to investigate suspicious radio broadcasts.

Improbable encounters with English poet John Betjeman, Austrian physicist Ewrin Schrödinger, satirist Myles naGopaleen, the mysterious Agent Green and the innocent (or is she?) Philomena O’Shea, lead to plot twists, double crossings and, inevitably, to the Palace Bar.

“Can’t a man have a drink in this town
But some clown of the voluble sort
Starts to talk about ‘ort’,
And how the words of At Swim Two Birds
Are rather like Joyce’s
Myriad voices –
Oh, God, can’t a man have a drink?”
Myles naGopaleen, Act One
