Back in September this year, we, that is, Laura Rigney, Sarah O’Toole and Sinead Coughlan, decided to climb Africa’s highest peak, Mt. Kilimanjaro, in aid of Concern. There are many personal reasons behind why we have decided to do this however it is primarily to try to make a difference. We believe we can achieve that difference through fundraising for Concern, a respected Irish, non Governmental Organisation with a long track record of making successful interventions in areas of the developing world where help is most needed.
To this end we have organised a series of fundraisers which shall take place between now and March. (Saturday 19th November) we have a Pop Up Rummage Sale happening in EIGHT Bar on the docks in Galway between 1 and 5pm…our friends and aquaintances have kindly donated a wonderful treasure trove of clothes, shoes, bag, accessories etc which shall be going for a steal at €5 and €10 a piece…get down early to grab the best items!
Also we have coming up a Sounds for the Summit gig featuring Lowerstate and Special Guests (including of us!) on Saturday 26th November in Monroe’s (Downstairs). Tickets are €10 and it should be a very enjoyable night. Doors at 11pm.
On Wednesday 30th there will be a Table Quiz also in Monroe’s at 7.30pm. We have amassed many wonderful spot prizes for the taking! 4 people per table and €10 per person…

Please help us to help others by lending us your support. Our target is to raise €17,000 in sponsorship all of which will go directly to improving lives through agricultural and environmental health development and practice in Tanzania, where Mt. Kilimanjaro is situated. The challenge is set for March 2012.
If you can’t make an event and would like to donate through our Concern web page, it is simple and totally secure. Concern will receive your money directly so they can put it to work in some of the poorest communities in Africa.
The address is http://www.concernchallenge.org/summitseekers and the instructions are pretty simple to follow once you click “Sponsor Me”
Thanks so much for your support and for helping to make a difference.
Much love and gratitude
